Barbados, Penny, 1788. An early token issue in 1788, with large head and wiry hair and large pineapple. There are several types identified in Krause and this is seen as the type III coin. Rare token with only 200,000 made. CC Ref # Barbados-1, VF

Bermuda, Penny, 1793. Known as the - Birmingham Coppers - of 1793 which were demonetised in 1842, when UK currency became standard. Very rare issue - 72,000 only so tough to find. CC Ref # Bermuda-1, aVF

British Guyana, 1835 over 5 – Essequibo and Demerary, Half Guilder. Territory includes present day Surinam. Bust of King William IV facing right with legend – GULIELMUS IIII D:G: BRITANNIAR:REX F: D:, Crowned oak wreath with ½ in the centre and date below legend – UNITED COLONY OF DEMERARY & ESSEQUIBO. British West Indies, 1820 – Silver Anchor Money, 1/8 dollar. Issued for use in various British colonies in both the New World and the Orient. Coins of this type dated 1820 are traditionally assigned to Mauritius and other holdings in the Indian Ocean. Shield with legend – GEORGIUS IV DG BRITANNIARUM REX F D. Anchor with date 1820 below and legend – COLONNIAR BRITAN MONET. CC Ref # BWI-1, VF

British West Indies, 1822 – Silver Anchor Money, 1/16 dollar. Issued for use in various British colonies in both the New World and the Orient. Coins of this type dated 1822 were initially struck for Mauritius but after the introduction of sterling as the denomination of public accounts in Mauritius they found their widest circulation in Canada and colonies in the Carribean Sea. Shield with legend – GEORGIUS IV DG BRITANNIARUM REX F D. Anchor with date 1820 below and legend – COLONNIAR BRITAN MONET. CC Ref # BWI-1, aVF

Curacao, 1944, 2 1/2 guilden. mintmark D, 72% silver, 200,000 minted. The Dutch West India Company took the islan of Curacao from Spain in 1634 and administered it till 1787, when it was surrendered to the United Netherlands. The Dutch held it thereafter except for two periods during the Napoleonic Wars, 1800 to 1803 and 1807 to 1816 when it was occupied by the British. During World War II Curacao refined 60% of the oil used by the allies; the refineries were protected by US troops after Germany invaded the Netherlands in 1940. CC Ref # ROW-1, UNC
