Canada, 1854, Bank of Upper Canada, penny bank token. Very nice uncirculated coin. Closer inspection reveals graffitti where the sword points to the word BANK. The graffitti is in relief which is unexpected. This implies that the dies used to make this token were crudely scribed for whatever reason before this token was produced. Did the scribe have some meaning, I guess we may never know. Upper photographs show coin. Lower photographs show graffitti in relief. The lower photograph has been mirror imaged to help understand what the graffitti may mean. Probably a unique coin in this condition. CC Ref # CAN-4, aEF
